EyeLink Task Computer Setup

This page outlines steps needed to setup eyelink for in-scanner eye tracking. Also see the SR Research participant setup video 1).

A nascent (2025-04-03) checklist document is on here

Once the camera and task PC are setup, you likely want to run SR Research EyeLink Calibration.

Other eye tracking topics include task integration, analysis, and install.

Setup Steps

We must attach and remove the connection each scan that will use eye tracking 2). The bottom port is already configured for the EyeLink system 3). To aid in setup, it's best to have the fully video displayed showing on the task computer and projected in the scan room.

  1. get keyboard and mouse
    • Prisma 1: find labeled mouse and keyboard to the left of the EPrime computer keyboard
    • Prisma 2: switch the eye tracking kvm box to 1 4)
  2. Ensure the EyeLink host PC (farthest left tower on lowest shelf) is on
  3. Plug the “EyeLink” blue sticky labeled Ethernet cord into the bottom “EyeLink” labeled port.
    • you may need to move the green tape to uncover the port
  4. click the blue eye icon “calibration” (control.exe) on the desktop to run the eye video presenting software
  5. show video once launched and gray screen is presented
    1. push enter on the keyboard to display the eye video
    2. push right arrow to see the full (un-zoomed) video collected by the tracker
  6. confirm eye is in focus and good thresholds can be set (see calibration)
  7. exit the video screen
    1. push the Escape key
    2. hold control and tap c, release all keys
1)
and to a lesser extent the Siemens Tray Mount and Eye Tracker Positioning (illuminator) video
2)
a connected Ethernet cable can be problematical for eprime
3)
the top network port is for Avotech/Arrington
4)
may be on display #2, showing screen for Avotech/Arrington eye tracking
